~~Days of December~~

December 7,2009
Today we woke up to fresh snow on the ground. First snow of this winter of 2009.It was beautiful. Took Mike 30 more minutes to drive to work. Not Good. I love the snow but his driving to work safe is more important.

I also got to see Gage a little today. It has been 2 days since I last say him. I feel like it was a lifetime. I rocked him to sleep. I would have held him longer but I had a harp lesson to go to.

December 8,2009
Parker (5 yrs old) had his winter program at Delphi today at noon. The stinker had to wear his cowboy boots. What a doll he was. Smiled the whole time. It was kinda cut watching the little 3 yr old girls start to cry. Little by little they worked up the tears and had to run to mom. Sweet things.

It's cold and windy outside. The wind is blowing the fire smoke inside the house. Stinking us out.
With high winds it blew our umbrella out of the holder and into the yard. Poor DH had to go out in the rain and cold and get it back and put in the holder. More wind and rain tomorrow with it turning to snow.

I've got a very big day. I better hit the hay.

God Bless.

Birthday Greeting Card for Mom

This is a card I made for
my mom on her Birthday.
My first time using Just
Right stamps. My bow was made with the bow easy. I embossed the front of card with my cuttlebug. The butterfly was made with my cricut. Cart Home Accents. I think it turned out good.

Gift Bags For a Wedding

Just a little bag I worked on this spring. It was fun and quick. As always it was a last minute craft. Getting an idea and having to try it out. My second try in bag decorating. Turned out ok.

The Energy of Youth

I see my Grandchildren with the energy of youth. One 5 years and the other 4 months old. The eyes of the 4 month old , Gage, is always looking for something new. ( Well everything is new to him.) But with a fresh awareness of it all. Like looking at the outside. The sun, shadows, the green color of the trees and grass. He looks at it with newness. He cant get enough of it. It's hard to pull him away. Or is it just me looking at it in a new way?

When I lay on the couch and my 5 year old grandson, Parker, lays beside me to watch TV. I enjoy it because I know some day all to soon he wont want to do that. And all I will have is the memory. Sunday he got into bed with me and it all I could do to wake up. How special it was for him to do that.

At times I want to just lay my head on my mom's shoulder and let her know I Love her. Just in that small act of closeness. But I am a woman of 56, and we don't do that. Some day I will regret my not doing it. I love my mother and it is now time that I take care of her at times. I see her time getting closer to the end.
Not tomorrow or next week or even in a year, but the energy of youth is passing. I feel it in myself too.
The get up and go is slower. The bounce back of an extra long shopping day is dragging me down. Not much speed left on these feet my friend. I am in 2nd gear. But that is OK. I watch my pace and try to get it all back with a good nights sleep.

Which leads me to an end of another late night blog. Time to get energized. Good Night. 9-15-2009

ART AND ITS BEAUTY

I have a very dear friend that I miss so very much. She lived next door. Sandy is her name. She showed me many things about gardening and Love. She has a blog on her art. I was visiting it tonight and found my blog listed as one she visits. How touching it was to me. I Love you dear friend. She has given me 4 paintings that I will love forever, and another that I contracted her to paint for me. They are a big part of my everyday.

I don't plan these blogs out very well. For if I did I'd have pictures of her paintings to show. Maybe when I get time I can do that.

Like now, it's 12:30 am and I should be in bed. I have a BIG day tomorrow. My husband gets in the shower at 5:30 am and I always wake up. Once that happens I can't go back to sleep. After the little ones go to bed and the bigger ones are off studying I get this energy. The alone time is so welcoming. Peace. Calm. Relaxation. So off I go to bed until another post, God Bless.

LET FALL BEGIN

Today is Sep. 1, 2009. What a beautiful day it is. Temps in the 70's, Blue skys and I have the day off. If I could have a wish for today it would be for time to stand still for me. I'd read on my swing, go to my craft room, play the harp, play with my Grandkids, clean house and watch a movie or two, Got to the grocery (so I can come home, put it away, cook it and then clean it up.) Well as long as time is standing still we might at well have the food cooked and the mess cleaned up for me. Anyway you got the picture. A lot to do and less time on the clock.

Back to reality. Cleaning must be done and so off I go.

Have a great day & God Bless.

BIRTHDAY BLAST

My Grandson had a blast at his 5th B-day party. They played with water balloons, water guns, took turns riding his John Deer tractor and got along just fine. Not a better batch of 4 children could have been picked. The temperature was in the low 90's so all the water made a very good cooling effect for the kids. We adults looked for the shade. LOL. I'll add pic as soon I get them off the camera.

Gage sported his little man shades & looked adorable. No cake for him yet. Only 3 months old. My time goes too fast.

God Bless all.

"GOOD MORNING"

Up and at it for a new day. Tomorrow is Parker's 5th B-day. His mom is throwing him a party with family and friends from day care. He is so excited. This will be his 1st b-day that he has planned. A month ago he started talking about it. I hope a few kids come. No one has RSVP. Tho the kids tell him they will come. This is his weekend to spend with Daddy. Grandpa Vance wants to bring him home on an old tractor. This is a surprise. It would be so cute. They should put a b-day sign on the back. :) I'll post pictures after we have the party.

It's a fuzzy world for me.

This is another test to see if I have this working or not. My first grandson Parker. He must be about 1 year old. He doesn't have that curly hair now. As a baby he looked just like his mother. Now he looks and acts just like his father.

ROSES AND PEONIES

Last summer I planted this white rose from my daughter. It bloomed all summer long. I was able to keep the bugs off even those darn Japanese Beatles. I also planted a pink rose and this year she gave me a lavender rose. Another flower that I LOVE are Peonies. Their life spans is way to short. They bloom in the spring in our rainy season and they always get stomped down. If you don't pick them before the rain then they fall to the ground and fall apart.

FLOWERS

These tulips are by my pack patio. I squirrel must have planted them because I didn't. Each year the get bigger and better. Flowers are just one of my passions. They bring me peace and calm. Following a butterfly to capture it on film is always fun. I love the scent of these pink flowers because they have a cinnamon smell like carnations.

This is a card I made for a friend for New Year 2009.
I made some really cool cards for Christmas but didn't take pictures. You should always save one of your best cards or take a picture for review. This I made after joining and looking at all the talent has to offer. I hope to gather pictures of cards I have sent to post later.

This is my Favorite teacher. I went there just to see and hear her. Her name is Pamela Bruner. She plays standing up. This is the teacher that broke into the church to gain access. I'm guessing she knew her way around. Her husband make the harps she plays. I wanted to buy one of her harps. But after playing one I wasn't so sure. the company is called Hartland Harps. She has good music to relax to and drift off to sleep in a peaceful way.

This is our teacher from Ireland, Janet Harbison. She had us all playing a tune that could be played in the Titanic. She was so funny. She has over 50 - 65 people playing a song together in 1 1/2 hrs.
I have been learning to play the harp for the past 5 years. This last fall I get to go to my first harp retreat. It was set in the hills of North Carolina with such great teachers, even one from Ireland. The weekend was full of many talents, such great food and good music. On one night we had a concert that we were locked out of the church. One of the teachers broke into the church and the concert went on. That was a blast. I have added some of my pictures for your enjoyment.
